Wow, this is so insightful - you answered my question about how rural Africa they could afford to use tech tools in a way that is more effective than paper = and I see how it's also a blended model. It's amazing what we are able to do with phones in healthcare! Another thing that comes to mind is healthcare in rural US populations, there are a lot of laws preventing telemedicine visits and reimbursements, so providers/patients are forced to come in. Some of that has changed with the pandemic, but a lot hasn't.

I also think about how in Oregon, the chiropractic license includes minor surgery because there simply aren't enough medical providers out there to serve rural areas.
